bluepen is twenty-one & still uninteresting. it feeds on blueink, and thinks bluethoughts; only rarely does it turn white, and even then it's bluish white

The reason why the blog has been quiet for a while is because Dad changed the internet connection. Now this house has officially upgraded from broadband to cable (which, queerly, doesn't seem to be any faster). So, apologies to the few readers of this Exclusive blog. :p

Where should i start? Ok went to K-Box with the Songwriting people today. Never quite occurred to me that it could be fun competing who could scream/squeak/screech the loudest. But the stress was definitely shut outside Room 65, and all vector problems forgotten for a while, as the Jay Chou marathon unfurled. :) Clara, as usual, sang beautifully; and Wei Bing's friend (whom we never got around to asking his name, maybe because he paid :p) could sing like Wang LH too, though they were for most of the time drowned by the rest of us. Almost fainted when Clara told me about the "Fan Club", omg...

Back to yesterday for a tiny bit on Starlight Cinema - Lilo & Stitch. The movie was better than expected. Was sweet and funny. The story revolves around a little but menacing alien freak (later named Stitch by Hawaiian girl Lilo) born of a genetic manipulative experiment being turned into a lovable house pet. Moral of the story: Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. Besides, mosquito bite count was surprisingly low. Suspect that the extra $4 went to the mosquitoes to convince them to stay away.

Wow Jane that's a looooong post! :) Ok i'll try not to be lazy, but NBA Live 2003 has a stronger calling, ya know? :p

Oh no oh no oh no, now there are so many different ideas around... and i've got me to blame. :(

So lazy so lazy so lazy to post. i have to think so hard to prevent any rubbish from sprouting. Anyway:

Phone Booth sucks! The plot is shallow and predictable. The tension is loose. The ending is ridiculous. And the absolute worst is the try-too-hard-to-be-cool catch-line: But a ringing phone has to be answered, doesn it? (*echoes* doesn't it doesn't it...). Throughout the movie i was praying for Colin Farrel to get out of that booth, but he never did. Probably that is exactly the point of the movie, but it isn't a very good point to boot. The entire show is only one hour and twenty minutes, which actually turned out to be a plus. If it dragged on any further, i'd really hate it.

Feel so bad for not replying to Sze Ling for soooo long, will send the parcel by today!

For yesterday:

Basketball was fun, as always. :) The only hitch was me forgetting to trim my toe-nails. Ended up almost splitting one of them. But still beat down Wei Liat and Hui Huang 7-6 on their home ground. Satisfying... :p

Gelare's Chocolate Temptation sucks...

Leaving now to play basketball with Wei Liat. Gonna sneak into VJ using his PE t-shirt, and that sort of excites me. :p Heh gonna run!

Sharon is in quite a poor state of mathematical revelation... It didn't occur to me till yesterday that they don't teach calculus for E maths in secondary schools. And it didn't occur to me too that without knowledge in differentiation you can't even do simple topics like curve sketching and Maclaurin's series. Anyway i gave her some homework in trigonometry (which she claimed that her school has just started to teach), and hope to get her slightly ahead so she wouldn't feel so lost in lessons. But she keeps reasonably neat notes*, and she is willing to work and learn. Had she displayed even the tiniest trace of what that arrogant RJ bastard** had shown last year, i would never have bothered.

* Which is something i can never do. :p
** Now now, everybody wants to hear the bastard story right? ;p Anyway last year approaching A-Levels, we (Clemence and i and another girl in the class, can't remember who) came across this J2 guy asking his econs tutor for advice. The attitude he displayed was simply intolerable. He was virtually dumping all his problems, which seemed to be caused primarily by his laziness, on the tutor. i was so impressed with her first-class patience.

SAT II was rather hard. Whoever would know what is neccessary for Doppler effect? Feel sort of cheated by the practice papers. Hope it'll go well. i really have no time to re-take it. Basketball at RI in the afternoon was Fun. i was in quite a good form (thanks to my alter ego in NBA Live 2003 which is a great inspiration *wink*) and really enjoyed myself, depite aching all over when i came back. Heard from Jiun Haur that Poh will be coaching us for Gryphon's Cup. Think it's goona be fun, too.

*sigh* Didn't go to Serendipity last night after all. Was feeling nauseus towards the end of LGC's econs tutorial. Came home and rested in the end. Now i wonder how well the jellies were received?

Finding Nemo is not particularly sweet, not particularly cute, and not particularly funny. It felt like a bowl of lukewarm mushroom soup. The only really side-splitting moments were Dory's Whale-speaking attempts* and the tribal-style welcome party thrown for Nemo by the residents of the tank. Other than that, nice little touches were everywhere - the rapper-tongued Crush who's 150 years old, the Fish-eaters Anonymous Group (a Bruce-Chum-Anchor tri-shark coterie) that has sworn off eating fish, and the East Australian Current depicted as the ocean highway EAC. But nothing is surprisingly refreshing in the show, and that makes it a four-star production at best.

* Whale. Wale. Get it?

For Serendipity, but primarily for Vina, three big boys headed down to my kitchen last night (after the enervating GP common test which ended at five), aided by matriarch Serene, to make some 48 picture-perfect koniyaku jellies. They are now lying in the fridge of the fruit stall, waiting to be devoured later. :) This time, besides orange essence, peach colouring also played a part. My jelly is getting more and more complete! Heh heh Invincible Jellyman!

As the days get more and more routine*, there seems to be less and less to say.

But
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVE!
May your endurance pull through and you finally achieve the tan/tone/figure/long-hair you've always wanted in the nineteenth year of your life. :)

* One of the vital signs being that i've started on my physics tys-doing frenzy again; and i've completed AC and analogue electronics within days. Quite a record.
